New tool to add coatings in ZEMAX

The April 2006 ZEMAX update includes an excellent new tool to help you add coatings and scatterings to faces of parametric and imported CAD objects in Non-Sequential ZEMAX. Coatings may now be added at the click of a mouse on a picture of the object. In addition to this you can now rotate the 3D shaded model plot with the mouse. ZEMAX models multi-mode laser beams

ZEMAX now supports the definition of high-order and multi-mode laser beams in its Physical Optics Propagation mode. This allows realistic, imperfect laser beams to be accurately propagated. Vital beam quality data, such as M2 are calculated for any beam and can be used as optimization targets. (9 August 2005)
