New tool to add coatings in ZEMAX
The
April 2006 ZEMAX update includes an excellent new tool to help
you add coatings and scatterings to faces of parametric and imported
CAD objects in Non-Sequential ZEMAX. Coatings may now be added
at the click of a mouse on a picture of the object. In addition
to this you can now rotate the 3D shaded model plot with the mouse.

This has been a much requested feature, and we now support afocal
mode fully. Not only does ZEMAX support afocal units like arc-minutes,
it also presents field aberrations in units of diopters. This

ZEMAX models multi-mode laser beams
ZEMAX
now supports the definition of high-order and multi-mode laser
beams in its Physical Optics Propagation mode. This allows realistic,
imperfect laser beams to be accurately propagated. Vital beam
quality data, such as M2 are calculated for any beam and can be

now supports up to 8 CPUs (central processing units) per machine,
for use on the most advanced computing workstations, solving the
