The ZEMAX Optical Design Program represents the state of the art in optical design software. ZEMAX integrates all the feature required to conceptualise, design, optimise, analyse, tolerance, and document optical systems. ZEMAX allows you to design sequential or non-sequential, imaging or non-imaging optical systems, all in one package.

ZEMAX-EE also provides Physical Optics Propagation for treatment of laser beams and coherent effects in optical systems!

All of these powerful features are integrated into an exceptionally intuitive user interface which can be mastered in minutes, not months. Best of all, ZEMAX does all this without breaking your budget. Nothing comes close to the power, ease of use, and value of the ZEMAX Optical Design Program.

Simple imaging system

ZEMAX runs under Windows 95/98/ME and XP. ZEMAX can use up to four processors simultaneously for heavy number-crunching (Win2000 or XP are needed for multi-CPU systems).

The ZEMAX user interface is flexible and easy to learn. All graphics, spreadsheet editors, and text display windows can be opened, moved, resized, and closed at any time. Mutiple windows may be left open and displayed on the screen at once.

ZEMAX has a comprehensive, easy to read printed program manual, as well as online documentation in electronic form. The online documentation has hundreds of pages of cross referenced and indexed information.

Tutorials for learning ZEMAX are available on the ZEMAX Knowledge Base. These tutorials range from the very basic singlet design right up to diffractive optics design and adaptive optical systems using multiple configuration lenses. In addition, a wide range of training courses is also offered. Training is the best way to get the most from ZEMAX.

Two different editions of ZEMAX are available: ZEMAX-SE and ZEMAX-EE. Each edition offers different features and capabilities. These pages cover the major features available.
